Subgroup Representation

The tables in the carousel below compare enrollment of students in the graduating class of 2022 belonging to subgroups in the general population and among students enrolled in music courses in sixth through eleventh grades. I conducted a series of z-test on two sample proportions using Minitab® Statistical Software to determine whether there was a statistically significant difference between the two populations in terms of music enrollment in sixth through eleventh grade. Students who had IEPs, students who were black, and students who were Hispanic were statistically significantly underrepresented in music courses. Students who qualified for Free or Reduced Lunch (FRL) and students who were Asian were statistically significantly overrepresented.
