Factors

Eleventh grade students who were not enrolled in a music course were invited to respond to a music program survey. One of the questions on the survey invited students to rate their level of agreement with 14 factors that may impact music course enrollment. For each factor, students were invited to select 1=strongly agree, 2=agree, 3=neutral, 4=disagree, or 5=strongly disagree.

Two-sample t-tests were conducted to determine if there was a significant statistical difference between the arithmetic average rating for 14 factors on the music program survey of subgroups of respondents who did and did not qualify for FRL. The F method was used to determine whether or not equal variance should be assumed when conducting the t-tests. Minitab® Statistical Software was used to conduct the statistical tests. A statistically significant difference between the mean response ratings of the two groups for the following factors.

Two-sample t-tests were conducted to determine if there was a significant statistical difference between the arithmetic average rating for 14 factors on the music program survey of subgroups of respondents who did and did not have an IEP. The F method was used to determine whether or not equal variance should be assumed when conducting the t-tests. Minitab® Statistical Software was used to conduct the statistical tests. A statistically significant difference between the mean response ratings of the two groups for the following factors.

A one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) on multiple sample means was conducted with post-hoc analysis using the Tukey Test with the means derived from the arithmetic average rating for each of the race and ethnicity subgroup for each of the 14 music program survey questions to determine if there were statistically significant differences. Minitab® Statistical Software was used to conduct the statistical tests. A statistically significant difference between the mean response ratings of the groups for the following factors.
