Biography
Megan Meier, Ed.D., has served as the Fine Arts Coordinator for the Rockwood School District in St. Louis, MO since 2015. In her role, she oversees the implementation of art, music, and theatre curriculum in the district’s thirty-one K-12 schools. She previously served Rockwood as the assistant principal at Westridge Elementary and as the music teacher at Kehrs Mill Elementary where she was selected as Teacher of the Year in 2012. Beyond her work in Rockwood, Dr. Meier has served as a conductor for the St. Louis Children’s Choirs and as music director for multiple churches. Dr. Meier earned her B.A. and M.A. (GTRA) in Vocal Music from Truman State University, M.A. in Teaching from Lindenwood University, Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Webster University, and Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning from Missouri Baptist University. She holds Level 1 Orff certification and completed Level 1 of the Choral Music Experience. Academic interests include equity in music education, arts integration, and social-emotional learning in the arts. Personal interests include traveling, Broadway musicals, and spending time with her family.
